About Me

I call myself a Jill of some trades, making wonderful things that work. Whether it is a website, a piece of art, or a useful craft, I believe that all things created should have a purpose, and I aim to collaborate with others to build something that are special, practical, and inspiring at the same time.

When I am not building anything, I love to travel around, be a food adventurer, play video games, read (almost) anything, watch (tasteful) anime, listen to music of (almost) any kind, and singing.

Bretzie Fan T-Shirt Design

Bretzie Fan T-Shirt Design

August 2011

This is a custom t-shirt design created as a gift to my friends who are also celebrities in the Philippines: Bret Jackson and Fretzie Bercede. I used a free t-shirt mockup from DeviantArt free downloads and Adobe Photoshop CS2 for the graphics and editing. The "bunny ninja" is a downloadable clipart found at a free clipart site (URL lost).

Business Card Designs

Business Card Designs

June 2013

I created these business card designs for my first batch of personal business cards as part of my long-term experience in the ProMatch unemployment support program. I used a free business cardtemplate downloaded from the Avery office supplies and used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for the designs. The QR code was generated using the Kaywa QR Code Generator and the boy and girl icons at the lower left thumbnail is from a free Dingbat font called Skipop. The flower logo and the A.us logo were both created using Adobe Illustrator CS2.

ADRICULOUS.me version 1 - WordPress Child Theme

ADRICULOUS.me version 1 - WordPress Child Theme

October 2013

My personal blog has been around since 2008, however this particular WordPress theme became the first child theme I have created using Sixteen Plus as its parent theme. I really liked the layout of the theme, plus it's also responsive to mobile devices, and decided to take advantage of it. I highly customized this blog to make it look like a gallery as means to attract more readers to the content behind that one particular image. I added a background image (from a free downloads site) and used one of my digital paintings created using Corel Painter 11 as a "hero" image at the top. The fonts used are courtesy of Google Fonts.

Sunset at the Beach - Digital Pencil Art

Sunset at the Beach - Digital Pencil Art

March 2015

After getting myself upgraded to Adobe Creative Suite CS6, I found the inspiration of creating new digital art for my future uses when building future WordPress and/or Tumblr themes. I started off by creating digital art of a beach stock photography from Pixabay with a hard pencil effect using Adobe Photoshop CS6's powerful new features not found on the old CS2 version. It turned out real well that I decided to add this to my portfolio as its own image.

Let's Volt IN! ver. 2 - WordPress Child Theme

Lets Volt IN! ver. 2

December 2015

This is a rebuilt personal project where I converted an old group blog with friends into a personal site collective. I upgraded myself again to the current Adobe CC after I purchased my laptop and its rather powerful resolution. This child theme is based on Themify's Postline parent theme, powered by its proprietary Themify Builder framework. Background image pattern and mockup images created for the home page's navigational grid were purchased at Creative Market. The text logo font is by Kimberly Geswein Fonts and the rest are by Google Fonts.

Heart Yngrid ver. 2 - WordPress Child Theme

Heart Yngrid ver. 2

February 2015

Client: Heart Yngrid

This is a joint project with my author friend in the Philippines, where I do the child theming and maintenance while she does all the content, graphics included. She always wanted to have her own official author site and I helped her develop it as a gift. We tried using the Divi framework at first, but with the constant updates, the features became so overwhelming that we decided to have a placeholder theme until we can finally figure out how the main page layout would look like, among other things. We took advantage when Elegant Themes (the creators of the Divi framework) released a brand-new parent theme powered by the Divi core framework called Extra, which we both believe fits what we are looking for.

This is my second project built for a client. My first one was an architecture firm site some five years ago that no longer exists.

Hi and Lo Wedding - Mock WordPress Wedding Child Theme

Hi and Lo Wedding

August 2016

This particular child theme was created formerly for my brother's wedding website. However, when the wedding was postponed, I decided to save this child theme and recreated it as a mock wedding website for demo purposes. I followed the standard formats of most wedding websites with a few twists to it. Unlike most wedding sites, this is a one-page landing-page style of sorts, with a countdown on the header to the couple's big day. The site is "work in progress" (as more information and updates from the couple arrive in the later future) and it also includes a guestbook via the Gwolle Guestbook plugin, a blog-style news and updates section, and a contact form. This WordPress child theme is built using the Divi Framework.

This is also the first one-page WordPress child theme that I built. Stock photos used courtesy of Pixabay and Unsplash.
